Hello hello. Once again I update from the lovely Java Joy. Here's my first installment of catch-up story time:

Shortly after my mom had left for home, leaving me alone in my new apartment, I decided that I was too lazy to make myself a proper dinner. Maruchan Ramen was on the menu that night. The flavor: Creamy Chicken.

In order to make myself feel less like I would die from lack of proper nutrition, I decided to augment my noodle soup with fresh, tasty vegetables. I chopped up green onions, cabbage, and broccoli to add to the pot. I didn’t add any meat or meat-like substances and felt a little guilty over my lack of protein, but I was far too lazy to do anything about it.

With my ramen soup complete, I sat down in my camping chair with my TV tray before me and began to enjoy my supper. So full of noodles, vegetables, and speckled seasonings! How could I not love it?

Alas, my bliss did not last. As the bottom of my soup bowl came into view I noticed that some of the specks I assumed were seasonings seemed conspicuously aphid shaped. “Funny, that” I thought to myself, “I didn’t know that seasonings came in aphid shapes.”

As it turns out, seasonings in fact do not come in aphid shapes. I had just consumed 3/4 of a bowl of aphid-noodle soup.

After finishing my meal (I had already eaten most of it, there was no point in stopping now) I found the source of my unwanted ingredient: infested broccoli. It had been purchased at a local grocery store earlier that week, and I honestly did wash it, but it seems that destiny took over and made sure that I got protein in my meal whether I wanted it or not.

Let this be a lesson to you all: check your vegetables before purchase, and for goodness sake, put some meat and/or meat substitute in your ramen!

The End
